PRC will be hosting a Prayer Gathering on Sunday, November 26th. We realize that so many of you (us) are struggling with world events right now. We want to provide a physical space for people to gather and pray about whatever is grieving them, remembering especially all those suffering from conflict and forced displacement.
We Christians truly believe that the Lord hears our prayers, and he responds. We are told to cast our cares upon him, the God who sees, who neither slumbers nor sleeps, who is victorious over death and is at work redeeming all things unto himself. We believe this, but sometimes it is so hard to see, especially when violence and human suffering are raging in places like Gaza, Israel, Ukraine, Sudan, Ethiopia, Burma, and so many other places. Sometimes it’s helpful to gather–to lament, to hope, and even to just sit and lean on the faith of others when we don’t have any words.
On Sun., Nov. 26 from 4-5 p.m., the Hospitality Room at Redemption Church Tempe will be open for anyone who would like to pray together or simply be steeped in the prayers of others. The time will be lightly structured. Please feel free to bring prayers, psalms, or other resources you’d like to use or share (not required, of course). No sign up is required.
