
Bible Study: Far From Home
Join us as we dig into a 6-week Bible study that explores the most popular migration stories in Scripture, from the Old Testament accounts of Abram and Sarai all the way to the early church’s missionary migration journeys in the New Testament.
All are welcome who wish to engage in thoughtful study and respectful discussion around God’s heart for immigrants and refugees. We’ll meet on Google Meet for six Tuesdays: 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6 from 12:00-1:00 p.m

Soul Care Day
We invite you to set down your work for a day. Receive the Lord's gift of rest and refreshment, knowing that while you rest, he still works.
This Soul Care Day is intended for anyone who is walking in relationship with refugees (as a volunteer, case manager, friend, pastor, etc.) and/or who has lived experience as a refugee.

It'll be an encouraging time for our network to hear from a national leader in refugee resettlement, pray together, know that we are only a small part of a national (and global!) network of Christians responding to God's call to care for the foreigner, the orphan, the widow and the poor.

We’ll visit Abounding Service, a non-profit organization in Central Phoenix that has been creating meaningful connections between refugees and Americans through Welcome Conversations since 2009. Discover where you could invest your time, talents, and resources!
Afterward, we'll debrief over lunch at a restaurant onsite.

The Welcome to America Project's Mobile Clothing Closet
WTAP Mobile Clothing Closets are a great opportunity to provide new and gently used clothing to newcomers. Volunteer to make an immediate impact by distributing gently used clothing, shoes, purses, and children’s books in an atmosphere of kindness and friendship.

Refugee Immersive Encounter
During this encounter you will hear about the refugee plight in the world, better understand the refugee process and have a meal in the home of a refugee family. This is a small group experience that will allow for your questions to be answered as you hear the stories of this family. Before and after visiting the home of the refugee there will be time to prepare for the visit and debrief this experience.
We'll begin at a local church in Tempe, then drive together to the home of a refugee family, and finally end back at the church for a debrief of the experience.

Human Trafficking Awareness 101
Our refugee and migrant neighbors are particularly vulnerable to human trafficking. This educational virtual presentation will explain what human trafficking is, who is most at risk and why, how to identify and help someone who is being trafficked, and how to prevent trafficking. There will be time for questions at the end as well as resources for supportive services.

"Go & See" Field Trip (East Valley)
Join us as we visit 3 of our local partners providing direct support to our refugee neighbors in the East Valley: The Arizona Refugee Center, ICNA Relief, and Matthew House. Learn how these organizations fill critical needs of the community in very distinct ways.
Participants will explore tangible opportunities to serve and get connected – whether it’s organizing a donation drive, practicing English, helping with citizenship classes, doing a one-time service project with your small group, or co-sponsoring a family. Discover where you fit in!

This time, the topic will be Cross-Cultural Competency, Part 2 facilitated by Helen Ryan who has over 25 years’ experience in refugee ministry. Even if you missed Part 1, this discussion is sure to enlighten and equip you to have healthier cross-cultural relationships. We’ll unpack together some of the differences between the majority culture in the US and the cultures of many of our refugee neighbors, what to do when those cultures clash, and how to navigate cultural differences.

Come worship alongside our Christian brothers and sisters from all over the world! This church was planted in 2023 by and for people seeking asylum. Iglesia Aliento shows them love, walking with them until they are self-sustainable and able to help others.

Tour Helping With All My Heart (HWAMH), a shelter for asylum seekers
Join us as we visit Helping With All My Heart (HWAMH), a shelter that warmly welcomes asylum seekers. The first 20 people to sign up will join our group, and together we will learn about HWAMH's mission/goals and the services they provide our neighbors seeking asylum.
