Share & Care Group, Topic: Learning from 1st and 2nd Gen Immigrants, our Future Church Leaders

The center of Christianity has been shifting over the past century from the global north (North America, Europe) to the global south (Africa, Asia, Latin America). Throughout the Biblical narrative and even throughout human history, we see that God is on the move, and it's fascinating to see that through the lens of migration. His Church is spreading. Global Christianity is shifting, and new things are emerging.

Dr. Timothy Tennet, president of Asbury Theological Seminary has been quoted saying, "The immigrant population represents the greatest hope for Christian renewal in North America."

In this Share & Care Group Gathering, we will hear directly from a first generation Immigrant Church Leader, Deenbo Kidane. Deenbo came to the US from Ethiopia as a child with her family. Today, she is the Youth and Young Adults Director at El-Bethel Evangelical Ethiopian Missionary Church in Glendale. She also is Co-Director of the Daniel Initiative, a network of international minority leaders. Deenbo has a long history of caring well for others, mentoring youth, and walking faithfully with people toward healing through the power of Christ.
