Workshop: Growing in Resilience in the Face of Trauma

This interactive workshop will give you practical tools to weather the ups and downs of refugee ministry plus many of the current challenges we face in life. Get a practical understanding of what trauma is (and is not), how it affects the whole person, how to walk alongside people in a hard place, and simple ways to bring peace, calm and safety to your own soul that you also can model for others.

You will:

  • Meet others doing local refugee ministry

  • Gain a practical understanding of "big T" and "little t" trauma and what kinds of things people need in those situations

  • Listen to your body and hear what it is saying to you!

  • Practice soul-care activities that restore well-being, hope, and even joy!

  • Identify things you've done that really do help others, and hear new ideas from those around you

  • See how resilient your refugee friends really are, and learn from them

  • Put together a set of activities that help you (and others, too) return to joy and act like yourself again after hardship

  • And, hopefully, laugh a bit!

You'll leave refreshed, equipped, and encouraged!

Sat., June 10 from 9-noon in Mesa. Includes lunch prepared by a refugee neighbor! Learn more and register here.
