World Refugee Day Celebration

The United Nations has designated June 20 as World Refugee Day, a day to commemorate the strength, courage, resilience, and contributions of refugees throughout the world.

It is a time when we focus on the incredible achievements of refugees who have become our neighbors, friends, co-workers, and countrymen – and it’s also a day when we consider the causes of their forced migration, the millions who are still persecuted and displaced without safety and protection, and the need for a world response to refugees’ plight.

Come to Phoenix College (1202 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix) on Sat., June 18 to commemorate this special day and celebrate our refugee neighbors here in Phoenix.
